King Charles III is currently searching for a housekeeper for the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. Despite the prestigious nature of the role in maintaining the historic residence, it pays only £12.60 per hour—less than the £13.39 hourly rate offered at the London Kew Bridge Premier Inn. Additionally, the Premier Inn job offers 20 more hours per week, making it a more financially rewarding opportunity.
The Royal Family’s housekeeping role demands a 7 am start with shifts scheduled throughout the week, from Monday to Sunday. Housekeepers may also be required to travel to other royal residences across the UK. Applications for the position with the Royal Household are closing on February 9, with the job listing highlighting the opportunity to acquire new skills and work in a unique setting.
