Linda Nolan’s ‘remarkable life’ to be honoured at funeral as family and friends pay respects

Linda Nolan, a beloved singer and entertainer, will be honoured at her funeral today as family and friends come together to celebrate her “remarkable life”. The public is invited to pay their respects at the service taking place at 10.30am at St Paul’s Church in Blackpool, Lancashire. Linda, who passed away on January 15 at the age of 65, will be remembered by loved ones at the church where she married her husband, Brian Hudson, and bid him farewell after his passing in 2007.

The Nolan family, including Linda’s sister Anne, took to Instagram to announce the funeral arrangements, inviting all who knew Linda or were touched by her to join in remembering her extraordinary life. Described as a symbol of hope, humour, and resilience, Linda was not only a talented entertainer but also a dedicated campaigner and fundraiser for cancer awareness. She bravely battled breast cancer, diagnosed in 2005, and continued her advocacy work even after being given the all-clear in 2011.

Throughout her career as a member of The Nolans and in her solo ventures, Linda touched the hearts of many with her performances on stage, screen, and in the media. Her impact went beyond entertainment as she tirelessly raised funds for various charities, including Breast Cancer Now, the Irish Cancer Society, and Samaritans, helping to raise over £20 million. Linda’s legacy of generosity and resilience continues to inspire those who knew her and those who followed her journey.

In lieu of flowers, Linda’s family is collecting donations for Trinity Hospice, a cause close to Linda’s heart. Messages of condolence can be sent to a memorial page in her honour, where over £2,450 has already been raised. Linda Nolan’s funeral serves as a moment to reflect on the life of a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on all who knew her, embodying strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to making a difference in the world.
