Following in the footsteps of the previous year’s victorious Money Makers team, who clinched the top prize of £800 for the school in 2024, Calderside’s participants are eager to make their mark in this year’s contest.

The talented team from Calderside Academy is gearing up for the grand final scheduled to take place at Edinburgh City Chambers on March 7. Competing in the 14-16 age category final, they will face off against formidable opponents from Mearns Castle High, Oban High, and St George’s School. Throughout the competition, the students are guided by industry professionals who mentor them in financial analysis, presentation skills, and potential career pathways, culminating in a three-minute “elevator pitch” at the final event.

Participating students have had the unique opportunity to engage in online Q&A sessions with investor relations representatives from renowned companies such as AG Barr, Novo Nordisk, and Spotify, gaining valuable insights into the business world. The Growing Future Assets competition, now in its fifth year, has seen a 32% increase in submissions this year, reflecting growing enthusiasm among young participants and unwavering support from teachers and coaches.
