### Renewed Appeal for Information on Missing Student Yuxin Cao on 24th Birthday

On what would have been his 24th birthday, Police Scotland has issued a heartfelt appeal for information regarding Yuxin Cao, a Stirling University student who has been missing for over 14 months. Yuxin was last seen on the evening of September 2, 2025, at Dumyat Hill, a popular location near Stirling, between 7pm and 9pm. He was reported missing the following day, and despite extensive searches, no sightings have been reported since.

Yuxin is described as standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, of medium build, with short black hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing dark clothing, including a hooded top. The previous day, he was seen near the University of Stirling campus, specifically at the Willow Court student accommodation block located in Bridge of Allan.

Inspector Emma Patrick has stated that a significant effort has been made to locate Yuxin, involving specialised police units, including the Air Support Unit, police dogs, the Dive and Marine Unit, as well as the Ochil Mountain Rescue Team. Despite these extensive efforts, no new information or sightings have been obtained.

“This has been incredibly difficult for Yuxin’s family,” Inspector Patrick remarked. “We will continue to support them as we remain committed to finding Yuxin. We urge anyone who may have seen him on Dumyat Hill or in the surrounding areas on the day he went missing, or anyone who might have information regarding his whereabouts since then, to contact us.” She emphasised that even the smallest detail could prove crucial in the ongoing investigation.

The police have asked anyone with relevant information to reach out by calling Police Scotland on 101, referencing incident number 1260 from September 3, 2025.

The case of Yuxin Cao continues to be a deep concern for both his loved ones and the community, and the hopes for his safe return remain alive. As authorities reiterate their appeal, the urgency in resolving this unsettling mystery resonates strongly, drawing attention to the profound impact of such disappearances on families and local communities.

In summary, the case raises critical questions about safety and vigilance in our communities, especially in areas frequented by students and young people. The community’s support and the continued efforts of the police remain vital in the search for Yuxin. Let us hope that this renewed appeal brings forth the information needed to reunite him with his family.
