Ex-Met Police officer David Carrick is facing fresh charges of sex offences, including rape and sexual assault, against two women. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed that Carrick is also accused of coercive and controlling behaviour following an extensive investigation. The 49-year-old will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 17 October to address the charges.

Lisa Ramsarran, chief crown prosecutor for the CPS in Thames and Chiltern, stated, “The CPS has authorised Hertfordshire Constabulary to charge David Carrick with sexual offences against two women.” She further detailed the charges, mentioning five counts of indecent assault, two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour.
Detective Chief Inspector Iain Moor of Hertfordshire Constabulary’s major crime unit noted, “The charges come after an extensive and complex investigation conducted over several months.” As the criminal proceedings against Carrick are ongoing, it has been emphasised that no reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online should prejudice his right to a fair trial.
