Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the A721 between Carstairs and the Harelaw Roundabout. The incident occurred around 1.30pm on Thursday, October 3, involving a red Audi A3 and a grey Audi A3. Emergency services responded, and the 72-year-old female driver of the red Audi was taken to Wishaw General Hospital in serious but stable condition. The 54-year-old male driver of the grey Audi was also hospitalized for treatment.
The road was closed for investigation and subsequently reopened around 5.30pm. Sergeant Gemma Blackadder urged witnesses of the crash to come forward and requested anyone with dash-cam footage to contact the police. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision.
