President Biden has strongly criticised former President Trump for spreading a barrage of false information regarding hurricane relief funds in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and the anticipated impact of Hurricane Milton on Florida. During a White House briefing, Biden expressed his dismay at the misinformation and disinformation campaign that is hindering efforts to assist those affected by the storms.
Biden highlighted his ongoing communication with governors from the states impacted by Hurricane Milton and Helene, including Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. He commended the governors for their cooperation and expressed gratitude for the federal assistance provided to address the crisis. The President assured that resources would continue to be deployed until the situation is under control.

Attributing the misinformation to his predecessor, Donald Trump, Biden refuted claims that the government was taking advantage of the disaster to seize property and clarified that storm victims are entitled to more than the alleged amount of $750 in relief. Additionally, he dismissed assertions that relief funds were being redirected to support migrants as baseless and absurd.
