The storyline follows Agatha as she assembles a group of unlikely allies to reclaim her lost powers and unlock the secrets of the Darkhold, an enigmatic book containing dark magic spells derived from the Hell Dimension. New characters introduced in the series have sparked intense fan speculation, particularly around their true identities and significance within the narrative.

Aubrey Plaza’s character, initially introduced as Rio Vidal AKA the Green Witch, was theorised by fans to be linked to Blackheart due to subtle comic book references in the show. However, a leaked Funko Pop toy suggests that Plaza’s character is none other than Death, also known as Mistress Death/Lady in Marvel comics, who was once romantically involved with the Avengers villain Thanos.
