Peaky Blinders star, Amber Anderson, and Sex Education actor, Connor Swindells, have tied the knot in a grand ceremony held in Scotland. Swindells, known for his role as Adam Groff on the hit Netflix show, had his co-star Alistair Petrie, who portrays his dad on the series, officiate the wedding.
Anderson, famous for her portrayal of Diana Mitford in BBC’s Peaky Blinders, was escorted down the aisle by her godmother due to her father’s illness. The bride’s father was honoured during the ceremony with musician Sean Shibe playing her dad’s guitar as she made her entrance. Adding to the special occasion, the couple’s rescue dog, Moose, participated as the ring bearer donning a tartan bandana.
The bride looked stunning in a Vivienne Westwood off-shoulder wedding gown complemented with Chanel jewellery, elbow-length gloves, and silver Roger Vivier shoes. Anderson expressed, “As cheesy as it sounds, I just knew as soon as I tried it on,” referring to her gown choice. Swindells, on the other hand, opted for a navy suit paired with a tartan tie from Atelier Arena.
The newlyweds embraced various Scottish customs during their celebration, including a Celtic Quaich ceremony where they drank from a traditional two-handled cup symbolising unity. The wedding feast featured a classic Scottish meal of haggis, neeps, and tatties, followed by a lively ceilidh dance party with music provided by Anderson’s musician friends, the Haggis Chasers. The couple’s first dance was to the Orcadian Strip The Willow.
Notable attendees at the reception included Emma director Autumn de Wilde, whom Anderson and Swindells befriended while working on the film. The duo first crossed paths during the filming of the 2020 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma. Prior to his relationship with Anderson, Swindells dated his Sex Education co-star Aimee Lou Wood for two years.
