Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in the popular Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’, has revealed that he has his eye on a particular item from the show that he hopes to keep as a memento once filming for the final season wraps up.
The eagerly anticipated fifth season, which has been teased as the last instalment of the hit series, is currently in production. Wolfhard, who has portrayed the character Mike Wheeler since the show’s inception in 2016, shared his desire to hold onto a significant prop from the very first episode.
The 21-year-old actor expressed that he would find it “very meaningful” to keep the Dungeons and Dragons Demogorgon piece that he famously slammed on the table in the early episodes. Additionally, Wolfhard mentioned the iconic bicycles used by the main characters, stating that they would also be amazing keepsakes.
As the filming for the final season draws to a close, Wolfhard reflected on the bittersweet experience, describing it as “very special” and surreal to be part of the concluding chapter of such a beloved series.
While the official release date for the new season is yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that esteemed director Frank Darabont, known for ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, will be coming out of retirement to direct two episodes. Darabont expressed his admiration for ‘Stranger Things’, highlighting its heartwarming storytelling amidst a landscape of darker narratives.
Apart from Wolfhard, original cast members including David Harbour, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, and Millie Bobby Brown are set to return for the final season. Terminator star Linda Hamilton is also slated to join the ensemble cast.
Outside of ‘Stranger Things’, fans can look forward to seeing Wolfhard in the upcoming Jason Reitman film ‘Saturday Night’, a comedy that delves into the moments leading up to the premiere episode of the iconic sketch show. The movie is set to feature a star-studded cast portraying SNL alumni from the show’s inception.
