Trump can’t stop obsessing over Harris’s McDonald’s job. So now he’s off to work the fryer at the fast-food joint

Donald Trump is scheduled to make an unusual campaign stop at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania this Sunday. Instead of indulging in his typical 2,400-calorie McDonald’s order, which includes two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate milkshake, the GOP presidential nominee plans to “work the fry cooker” at a Philadelphia branch, a source revealed to CNN on Tuesday.

The former president has been fixated on visiting the Golden Arches for weeks due to Kamala Harris’s past summer job at the fast-food chain, a story that seems to have unsettled him. Harris has frequently shared how she briefly worked at a Californian McDonald’s during her college days in the 1980s, which has inexplicably bothered Trump.

Trump has cast doubt on Harris’s role at McDonald’s, dismissing her story as “fake” without any evidence to support his claims. During a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last month, he even jokingly promised attendees that he would take a turn behind the counter and operate the fryer himself.

At the rally, Trump announced his plan, stating, “I think I’m going to go to a McDonald’s next week someplace – it might not be here in your place. I’m going to go to a McDonald’s and I’m going to work the French fry job for about half an hour – I wanna see how it is.” He reiterated this during a Reno, Nevada rally on October 10, adding that he was determined to visit McDonald’s to work.

Trump, known for his fondness for McDonald’s where his campaign reportedly spent $31,000 in the last 18 months, argued that his brief stint at the fast food chain would exceed Harris’s experience. In response, Harris reaffirmed her past employment at the Alameda, California McDonald’s in the summer of 1983 during an interview, emphasising that she worked there as a student to support herself.

While the Harris campaign confirmed her tenure at the fast-food restaurant, Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, challenged the validity of her claims, urging for concrete proof. The Independent has sought further comments from the Trump campaign on this matter.

This unconventional move by Trump to work the fryer at a McDonald’s has further stirred up the ongoing debate surrounding Harris’s student job and the former president’s apparent fascination with it.
