Dancer and model Danielle Peazer, who dated One Direction star Liam Payne for two years until 2013, has shared a heartfelt tribute to the late singer who passed away last week at the age of 31. Peazer, who met Payne on the ITV reality show The X Factor in 2010, disclosed in her statement the one thing she believed he was proudest of.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Peazer encouraged her followers to remember Payne not only as a world-famous musician, but also as a son, brother, friend, and uncle. She revealed that Payne’s most cherished role was that of a father, despite his many other significant achievements. Peazer expressed her deep sorrow for Payne’s son Bear, his parents, and sisters, pledging her love, thoughts, and support to them during this unimaginably difficult time.
Payne shared his son Bear with Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge Cheryl, with whom he was in a relationship from 2016 to 2018. Peazer acknowledged that although her romantic relationship with Payne ended in 2013, they shared a connection that would endure forever. She praised Payne for his dedication to others and lamented that he might have struggled to find his own happiness without seeking approval from others.
Peazer also reminisced on the importance of boundaries and self-protection that Payne taught her, expressing her gratitude for a recent message from him regarding her current partner Sonny Jay and their daughter Mia. She conveyed her sadness that Payne’s life ended so tragically and prematurely, wishing he could have continued sharing his unique talents with the world. Peazer signed off by sending her love and bidding Payne a peaceful rest.
Peazer herself is in a relationship with Sonny Jay, a Capital Radio presenter and the 2021 Dancing on Ice champion, with whom she shares a daughter named Mia. Initial reports from a preliminary autopsy indicated that Payne suffered internal and external hemorrhages and sustained multiple traumatic injuries from a fall from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires.
