A chip shop in Stirling has successfully raised over £1300 for a domestic abuse charity by serving 600 customers with a special reduced-price menu. Vincenzo’s Fish and Chips on Cowane Street in Stirling organised a two-day fundraising event earlier this month, with all proceeds going to the Stirling and District Women’s Aid charity. The team at Vincenzo’s managed to collect a total of £1312.50, with an additional £80 raised through donations.
The chip shop plans to continue supporting the domestic abuse charity by organising similar fundraising events in the future. Stirling and District Women’s Aid CEO, Lisa McGloin, expressed gratitude towards Vincenzo and his team for their efforts in raising funds for the charity. The special menu offered during the fundraiser included discounted prices on various items such as haddock suppers, steak pies, and chicken suppers.
The idea for the fundraising event came about during a raffle organised by Kyle Servera of Central Scotland Takeaway Review. Vincenzo also contributed gift vouchers to support the raffle. Vincenzo explained his motivation for supporting the charity, stating, “Women are sacred to me and children. I have six grandchildren – the eldest is three years old and the youngest is three months old.”
The Stirling and District Women’s Aid spokesperson commended Vincenzo and his team for their dedication to fundraising for the charity. The successful event was characterised by a vibrant atmosphere, with music playing, a queue out the door, and delicious food that was enjoyed by all attendees. CEO Lisa McGloin collected the cheque on behalf of the charity from Vincenzo and his team.
