Galloway may soon see the opening of its first McDonald’s outlet as plans have been revealed by the burger giant to construct a £4 million drive-through near Cairnryan, in the grounds of the Lochryan Hotel just off the A77. The fast-food chain anticipates creating approximately 120 job opportunities alongside this new establishment. Residents will have the chance to view the proposed plans at Cairnryan Village Hall on Wednesday, November 13, between 3pm and 7pm.
Andrew Crewther, McDonald’s Senior Acquisitions Surveyor, expressed excitement about the potential development, stating, “We are delighted to announce the plans for a drive-thru restaurant in Cairnryan. The development will create over 120 jobs and if approved, will generate significant inward investment of around £4 million to the local area.” He further added, “We look forward to showcasing our proposals to the local community at our upcoming information event. The event will play an important role in informing local residents of our plans that we hope to submit to Dumfries and Galloway Council in the near future.”
The detailed plans will also be available for viewing online starting from November 13 on www.mcdonaldscairnryan.consultationonline.co.uk. Currently, McDonald’s has two existing outlets in Dumfries and Galloway – one at Annandale Services on the M74 and another in Dumfries, with plans for a second branch in the pipeline.
