St Mirren player Jaden Brown has admitted to breaching his driving ban not once, but twice, just days apart. The 25-year-old defender appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court to face three driving offences. On July 11, Brown was caught driving a car in Glasgow’s Springfield Quay despite already being banned from driving. Then, just two days later, he was found behind the wheel of a car again, this time on Abbotsinch Road in Renfrew, while still disqualified. Additionally, Brown confessed to driving without insurance on July 11. Initially, he appeared in court without legal representation but later sought advice from defence agent Eamon McGeehan.
Brown, who joined St Mirren on loan in January from Lincoln City before signing a permanent two-year deal, is no stranger to driving offences. His original driving ban stemmed from a conviction for drink-driving. The court deferred his sentencing to allow for the preparation of reports, including a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment. The sentencing is scheduled for November 29, with Brown remaining on bail and prohibited from driving in the meantime.
In addition to these charges, Brown faced four more driving offence charges, including allegations of driving a Mercedes-Benz E class without insurance on October 4 in Johnstone’s Napier Street. However, the Crown accepted his not guilty pleas to these charges. Despite his legal troubles, Brown has had a successful football career, having been capped by England at the Under-19 level. He started his career at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Huddersfield Town and, subsequently, Sheffield Wednesday. After a stint at Lincoln City, he joined St Mirren earlier this year.
