Liam Payne death probe sees ‘three people detained’ after series of raids

Three people have been detained in connection with the investigation into the tragic death of One Direction star Liam Payne. Liam tragically fell from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16. According to reports, two hotel employees have been detained for allegedly providing drugs to the singer. Additionally, a friend of Liam’s has also been detained after authorities conducted a series of raids, including searches of hotel lockers and review of security footage at the hotel.

Argentine law enforcement carried out a total of nine raids related to the investigation, with eight of the homes raided belonging to the three individuals currently under investigation. Investigators are looking into a Dove soap box found at the scene, suspecting it may have been used to smuggle drugs. Traces of cocaine were reportedly found in Liam’s body at the time of his death, as per Argentine media reports.

A close friend of the singer revealed that two hotel employees were involved in supplying drugs to Liam, even arranging for packages to be collected via taxis. The post-mortem examination confirmed that Liam’s cause of death was head injuries sustained during the fall. Plans for a “lavish service of remembrance” are in the works, likely to be held in a grand cathedral to allow family, friends, and fans to pay their respects.

A Change.org petition has garnered over 134,000 signatures, urging for improved support and mental health resources for artists in the entertainment industry. It calls for regular mental health check-ups, designated rest periods, and access to professional mental health support, emphasizing the need for better care within the industry.
