A slip-road on the M8 at West Lothian will undergo closures for four nights, causing potential disruptions to drivers. The slip road exiting the M8 eastbound at Junction 3 in Livingston will be closed between 8pm and 6am on November 14, 16, 17, and 18. These closures are necessary for the commencement of the next phase of works on the bridge over the A899 local road.
Additionally, from November 15 until March 2025, a lane closure will be in place on the M8 Junction 3 eastbound off-slip for concrete repairs on the bridge abutments. During the closure nights in November, traffic wanting to exit the eastbound M8 at Junction 3 will be diverted via Junction 3A, Starlaw east roundabout, Carnegie Road, Deans Road, and the A89 to Dechmont Roundabout, adding approximately 4 miles and eight minutes to affected journeys.
It is essential to undertake these closures to ensure the safety of road users and maintain the structural integrity of the bridge. All traffic management on the A899 under the bridge will be removed after November 14.
