The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed two storm-related deaths, while Buncombe County reported 40 fatalities. Thousands of federal personnel have been mobilised to respond to the disaster, and President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Raleigh, North Carolina on Wednesday.
