Cumbernauld Theatre Company has officially begun accepting applications for its 2024 Christmas Appeal. The company is offering tickets for two festive productions – ‘Pinocchio’ for those aged seven and above, and ‘Special Delivery’ for children aged three to seven. Supported by the generosity of donors throughout the year, the aim of the appeal is to provide the opportunity for individuals and families to experience the magic of live theatre.
Local groups and organisations in Lanarkshire are encouraged to apply for the donated tickets. Last year, over 300 tickets were distributed to the community, and this year, thanks to the overwhelming support received, the funds raised have already surpassed that number. This ensures that even more families will be able to enjoy Cumbernauld’s festive shows this holiday season.
Sarah Price, CEO of Cumbernauld Theatre, expressed the importance of the Christmas Appeal, stating, “For many people in our communities, experiencing the joy of attending Christmas shows is sometimes just out of reach.” She highlighted the heartwarming excitement and joy that audiences experience at the theatre during the festive season and expressed the company’s desire to spread that joy to children, young people, and families in the community in December.
Applications are now open for local groups and organisations serving individuals and families in need. The deadline for submissions is 10 am on Monday, December 16. Due to limited availability, not all requests may be fulfilled. Donations to the appeal can also be made through the company’s website or by contacting the box office.
By contributing to the Christmas Appeal, donors directly support offering tickets to those who may not have the chance to attend otherwise. It is a wonderful opportunity to bring the gift of live theatre to those who may need some extra support during the holiday season.
