A tattoo studio in Scotland is making a difference by donating all its profits to an animal rescue centre. Tribe Tattoo Studio, located in Glasgow’s west end and Edinburgh, has been supporting the Clyde Valley animal rescue centre, which is home to 120 animals. Clover, a lamb at the sanctuary, was rescued by dog walkers when she was in a terrible state with a broken leg and pecked-out eyes. The sanctuary, founded by tattoo artist and animal lover Morag Sangster in 2017, provides a safe haven for surrendered, neglected, and abandoned animals such as sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, and donkeys.
Morag Sangster, alongside her husband John, who are both vegan and avid animal lovers, realized their dream of opening Tribe Animal Sanctuary to give animals a second chance at life. The sanctuary relies solely on profits from the tattoo studio and donations from the public to cover vet bills that can run into thousands of pounds each month. Despite the challenges, Morag finds caring for the animals rewarding, seeing them thrive and enjoy life in the sanctuary.
The sanctuary is a full-time commitment, requiring physical and mental dedication to ensure the animals’ well-being and meet all the financial needs. Morag emphasizes the individual personalities and quirks of the animals, highlighting that farm animals, like pets, have unique characteristics and deserve to live happily. The sanctuary is currently holding an online auction to raise funds, offering weekend breaks, meals, and gifts for bidding.
