Sanquhar Primary School pupils had an exciting encounter with celebrity Paddy McGuinness during his charity cycling tour through the region. The children enthusiastically cheered on the BBC 2 DJ as he passed by during his 300-mile endurance cycle from Wrexham AFC to Glasgow. Paddy, known for presenting “Take Me Out,” took a moment to pose for a picture with the thrilled pupils, who had prepared banners and Pudsey masks to show their support.
The class, led by parent Emma Herries, closely followed Paddy’s journey through Dumfries and Galloway, making stops at Abington, Crawford, and Elvanfoot to greet him and his accompanying cameras and BBC crew. Some pupils even had the remarkable opportunity to meet cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy, who interviewed Paddy during the tour. The highlight for the pupils came when they spotted themselves on TV during Children In Need on November 15th.
