**Dumfries Food Train Supports Older People with Fundraising Efforts**
The Dumfries Food Train is making strides in its mission to support older people within the community. A recent Christmas coffee morning event held at the Food Train Hub in English Street, Dumfries, saw a successful turnout with proceeds set to benefit the elderly residents in the area.
This year, Cochran at Newbie selected Food Train Annan as their charity of the year and generously donated £500 towards the cause. The funds raised from the coffee morning will be instrumental in ensuring that older individuals receive the necessary help, support, and companionship to maintain a high quality of life while staying in their own homes.
At the event, Gary McCracken and Tracey Egginton organised a popular raffle to boost fundraising efforts. Additionally, visitors at the Christmas Coffee Morning were treated to a festive winter warmer of delicious soup prepared by Food Train volunteers Maggie Ferrier and Olive Shaw.
