Lorraine Kelly left puzzled as she is ‘locked out’ of her studio by Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh. The morning show was ‘hijacked’ by the duo, leaving Kelly unable to host.
The 64-year-old presenter was surprised to find herself barred from entering the live filming, with Lampard and Singh taking over the hosting duties. Kelly, who was scheduled to be the host, was left in the dark as she was not given any research or information about the guests for the show.
In a video shared on Instagram, Kelly expressed her confusion about the situation, describing it as a “big surprise” ahead of her 40 years in breakfast TV. She eagerly awaited to see what her team had planned for her.
Prior to the anniversary special, Singh mentioned on Good Morning Britain that they had locked Kelly out of her own studio, teasing that she would get them back in the future. This unexpected episode marked the first time all three hosts had presented Lorraine together.
Fans celebrated the moment, with one calling it “iconic” while another joked, “With Christine and Ranvir hosting… I’m very surprised she turned up today.”
Kelly’s remarkable career will be honoured in a new ITV documentary titled “Lorraine Kelly: 40 Unforgettable Years,” showcasing archival footage of her early days and interviews with colleagues. Starting as a journalist at the East Kilbride News, she went on to TV-am as a reporter before hosting Good Morning Britain and eventually her own show, Lorraine.
On Good Morning Britain, Kelly received praise for her impactful interview style, with Reid commending her ability to make a significant impact on-screen. Reflecting on her career, Kelly shared her experiences covering tragedies like the Lockerbie bombing and Dunblane massacre.
The documentary, “Lorraine Kelly: 40 Unforgettable Years,” will be broadcast on ITV1 at 9pm.
