The Cambuslang joggers’ Christmas dash brought joy and toys to children in the Whitlawburn area. The Cambuslang Jog Scotland group, donned in festive attire, ran through the streets of Halfway, admiring the beautifully decorated homes for Christmas. Participants, including around 50 joggers and six leaders, came together to contribute to charity by donating toys for children in need. The toys were handed over to the Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre for distribution during the holiday season.
This annual event, known as the Zash Dash, is a beloved tradition for the joggers. Despite the rain and puddles, the group’s commitment to spreading cheer remained unwavering. Following their run through Halfway, the joggers looped back to their starting point at Morrisons, having covered various streets and neighbourhoods along the way.
Zasha, a dedicated member and leader of the group, highlighted the sense of community and support provided by Jog Scotland. The non-competitive and inclusive nature of the runs cater to individuals of all running abilities, fostering a welcoming environment for both beginners and seasoned runners alike. The group’s initiative not only promotes physical activity but also nurtures camaraderie among its members.
