Police in Dumbarton are currently investigating a blaze that occurred on Christmas Eve after a car was intentionally set on fire in a residential street. The incident took place outside a property on Colquhoun Road around 11 am. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported, and the fire was promptly extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Authorities are now seeking information from the public and have released a description of a suspect they wish to speak to regarding the incident. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s with a shaved head, wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and a jacket. After setting the car on fire, the suspect fled in the direction of Crannog Road.
Detective Constable Andrew Baldacci from Clydebank CID stated, “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or the man described to come forward.” He also urged anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage that could assist in the investigation to contact the police.
