Perth’s popular leisure pool, Monkey Jungle, and flumes are set to reopen to the public this weekend after being closed due to a boiler issue. Live Active Leisure, the organization managing Perth Leisure Pool on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council, announced that starting this Saturday, they will be able to resume their full range of activities for the public to enjoy.
Initially, on January 14, a temporary solution allowed for the reopening of the training and teaching pools for lessons, club and lane swimming, as well as the gym and health suite. However, the leisure pool, Monkey Jungle, and flumes had to remain closed. Despite the boiler issue not being entirely resolved yet, engineers have been working diligently to find a solution, enabling the reopening of these facilities on January 18.
All pools at Perth Leisure Pool had been closed since Christmas, with the health suite and gym shut since the New Year due to cold water and building temperatures. Live Active Leisure highlighted that while they are excited to welcome back visitors, fluctuations in air and water temperatures may still occur until the boiler issue is entirely fixed.
Debbie Scott, the Operations Manager at Perth Leisure Pool, expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and understanding throughout this period of closure. The maintenance team and contractors are working towards a permanent solution, with updates to be provided in due course.
