Glassford Beer and Gin Festival is Back in Full Swing
Lanarkshire’s Glassford Beer and Gin Festival is set to return next month, promising an exciting gathering for hundreds of attendees in the South Lanarkshire village. Scheduled for Saturday, March 29, this highly anticipated annual event will showcase a wide array of brews, gins, spirits, wines, proseccos, and cocktails from various brewers and independent brands across Scotland.
The event, organised by the Glassford Community Group, aims to kick off the Avondale festival season in style. Throughout the day, revellers can indulge in taste-testing events, live music, and dance performances by local artists and musicians. The festival will feature a diverse selection of beverages, including alcohol-free options, to cater to all preferences.
The festival atmosphere will take over Jackson Street, with a lively marquee serving as the epicentre of the celebration. Attendees can enjoy the vibrant ambience, dance to live performances, and participate in the festival’s ever-popular silent disco. Additionally, local radio station Avondale Radio will provide live broadcasts from the village hall, adding an extra layer of entertainment to the event.
Les Hoggan, the Glassford Community Group secretary, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s festival, highlighting the event’s contribution to raising funds for community initiatives. Proceeds from the festival will support the group’s efforts to redevelop the village hall into a multifunctional community hub, further enhancing the local area.
The festival will run from 1pm till 9pm, offering a full day of festivities at the Village Hall, the Steayban, and Jackson Street. For convenience, a free shuttle bus will operate every 15 minutes from Strathaven, in addition to the public bus route passing through the area. Tickets can be purchased for £22.38 from Eventbrite or at select local establishments.
