Strictly Come Dancing Star Confesses Crush on Professional Partner
In a surprising revelation, Sarah Hadland, a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, has openly admitted to having a crush on her professional dance partner, Vito Coppola. The 53-year-old comedy actor, known for her role as Stevie Sutton in the sitcom Miranda, confessed to finding the 32-year-old Italian ballroom dancer attractive from the moment they first met.
Hadland candidly expressed, “Yes, I fancied him. I’m alive, aren’t I? If you’re female and have a heartbeat, how could he NOT be anybody’s type?” The pair is set to perform a passionate paso doble to the song “Freed From Desire” by Gala in this week’s episode.
Discussing the choreography for their upcoming routine, Hadland shared with The Sun, “The paso doble we’re doing this week is very serious and sensual, and when we started learning it I was very, very giggly.” She elaborated, “There’s a lot of groin to thigh, and I have to look deep into his eyes — which make it ten times worse.”
Despite the chemistry on the dance floor, Hadland assured that she would not succumb to the infamous “Strictly Curse,” where relationships between contestants and their partners can become strained. She stated that she is fully committed to the dance and does not have the energy for any extracurricular affairs.
Reflecting on her intimate experience on Strictly, Hadland confessed that nothing in her acting career had prepared her for the closeness required in the dance competition. She remarked, “As an actor, you do get to be very up close with people, but with Strictly it’s another level. You have to be so close. I’m going to be honest, though — it’s not hard. Or rather, should we say, it’s not difficult. Let’s go with that.”
Furthermore, Hadland shared her enthusiasm for being a part of Strictly, describing it as a dream come true. She humorously referred to Vito as “the cherry on the cake” of her experience on the show. The duo received a remarkable score of 30 for their Quickstep performance to “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton, setting a record for the highest mark ever achieved for a Quickstep in the competition’s first week.
