Donald Glover cancels UK and European tour dates amid health issues

Donald Glover has cancelled the remaining dates of his Childish Gambino tour due to health issues requiring surgery. The New World tour was supposed to reach the UK in November and early December, with performances lined up in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Birmingham, and Dublin in Ireland. This decision comes after Glover postponed the rest of his North American tour last month to focus on his physical well-being.

Following a medical assessment stemming from an ailment, Glover shared, “As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal.” Although he did not disclose specifics about his health matter, the 41-year-old artist acknowledged the seriousness of his path to recovery. Expressing his desire to perform for his fans, Glover regretfully announced the cancellation of all future North American, UK, and European tour dates.

The tour was intended as a final farewell to Childish Gambino after Glover retired his stage name in July this year upon releasing his last album, Bando Stone & The New World. Despite the setback, Glover expressed gratitude for the support and understanding of his fans during this challenging time. The music star’s statement emphasised the importance of addressing his health concerns with a sincere commitment to his recovery journey.

Glover’s decision has disappointed many eagerly anticipating his performances across the UK and Europe. Fans are left to wait patiently for his return to the stage after his successful recovery from the surgery. The artist’s dedication to his well-being and his commitment to delivering remarkable performances highlights the importance of prioritising health above all else in the face of adversity.
