Kamala Harris to Mock Trump at Alabama-Georgia Football Game
The Harris campaign is set to take a jab at Donald Trump during a highly anticipated college football game between Georgia and Alabama. Scheduled on Saturday, the campaign revealed its plan to fly a plane carrying a banner with the words “Say It To My Face.” This move is in reference to Trump’s refusal to engage in a second debate with his Democratic opponent.
Harris had proposed a second debate on October 23 to be hosted by CNN, to which Trump declined despite his earlier statement expressing readiness to debate under any circumstances. Along with the plane flying over the Bryant-Denny stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a national television ad will be aired during the game. The advertisement aims to remind all attendees, including Trump, about the former president’s decision to skip the second debate.
Pressure is mounting on Trump from GOP supporters and his allies to commit to a second debate with Harris. At their previous confrontation, Trump appeared flustered and made unfounded allegations about Haitian immigrants. The plane banner, flying during the game, is intended to underscore Trump’s avoidance of a second debate.
In a statement, Michael Tyler, the Communications Director for Harris-Walz, criticised Trump for backing out of the debate, calling him weak and unpopular. He emphasised the importance of voters seeing the choice between moving forward with Vice President Harris or regressing with Donald Trump on the debate stage.
Reportedly invited to the game by an Alabama businessman, Trump is said to have requested a meal comprising two McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish sandwiches with cheese, Domino’s pizza, stadium hot dogs, and Diet Coke. Prior to the game, Trump addressed a rally in Wisconsin where he criticised Harris as “mentally impaired.”
The event, hyped as one of the season’s top college match-ups, is expected to draw significant attention. Harris is poised to present her case to the American people on October 23 in Atlanta, challenging Trump to step up and do the same.
