A body has been discovered in the search for a missing teen from Kirkcaldy. Jamie Lyons, 19, was reported missing on Sunday, September 29. The body was found in woodlands off Oriel Road in the town on Monday at around 4.20pm. While formal identification is yet to take place, Jamie’s family has been informed of the discovery.
Police have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. Jamie’s mother took to social media to ask for assistance from friends and family in searching the woods off Oriel Road. Images from the scene show officers at the woodlands, which have been taped off as part of the investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed, “Around 4.20pm on Monday, 30 September, the body of a man was found in a wooded area in the Oriel Road area of Kirkcaldy. Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Jamie Lyons, 19, reported missing from the town on Sunday, 29 September, have been made aware. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
