Argyll and Bute Council Leader Vows Action to Expedite A83 Permanent Solution
The leader of Argyll and Bute Council has reiterated a strong commitment to hasten the process towards a permanent solution for the ongoing issues at the A83 Rest and Be Thankful. At a recent full council meeting, an update was presented regarding the progress towards implementing a debris shelter along the A83 route. It was disclosed that the utilization of the Old Military Road could serve as a temporary measure for years while the shelter is under construction.
The Rest and Be Thankful quandary ranks high on the agenda for the new council administration, as confirmed during the meeting. Council leader Councillor Jim Lynch (SNP, Oban South and the Isles) assured the councillors and the public of his determination to persistently engage with the Scottish Government to ensure a lasting resolution is put in place.
