Former Metropolitan Police officers, Jonathan Clapham and Sam Franks, have successfully appealed against their dismissal and have been reinstated to their jobs. The officers were initially sacked last October following allegations that they had lied during a stop and search incident involving British athlete Bianca Williams. The disciplinary panel at the time found that the officers had falsely claimed to have detected the smell of cannabis during the stop which also involved Olympic sprinter Ricardo Dos Santos.
