Pro-Palestine Supporters March Through London to Mark One Year of Israel-Hamas Conflict
Pro-Palestine supporters are currently marching through central London today, to commemorate one year since the commencement of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7, 2023. The demonstration, orchestrated by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign along with other affiliated groups, is assembling at Russell Square with intentions to proceed to Whitehall, where a series of speeches will be delivered.
In response to this march, a counter-protest, spearheaded by Stop The Hate, is also expected to be held. Following this, a memorial event is scheduled to take place in Hyde Park on Sunday afternoon, organised by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Jewish Leadership Council, and additional supporting entities.
The Metropolitan Police has indicated that it is currently not aware of any significant public events scheduled for Monday, the specific anniversary of the attacks that initiated the Israel-Hamas conflict. The event marks a significant occasion for both supporters and detractors of the conflict, where voices on either side are being expressed within the city.
