A Stormtrooper helmet from a fan-favourite Star Wars scene is set to be auctioned for an estimated £500,000 at a significant TV and film auction. The upcoming Propstore auction in London will feature over 1,800 lots, including iconic pieces from various movies. Among the highlighted items is the Stormtrooper helmet, famously featured in the mind trick scene from the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

Apart from the Stormtrooper helmet, another noteworthy piece up for auction is Michael Keaton’s batsuit display from the 1992 film Batman Returns, with an expected price range of £100,000 to £200,000. Additionally, an arena helmet and mask worn by Russell Crowe in the 2000 epic Gladiator by Sir Ridley Scott is also listed with a similar estimation.

The auction will also include other remarkable props such as Mark Antony’s Battle of Actium costume from Cleopatra (1963), Achilles’ helmet worn by Brad Pitt in Troy (2004), a Robert McGinnis poster art for James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever (1971), and Marty McFly’s resizing jacket from Back To The Future Part II (1989).

TV props will also be on sale, including Lady Whistledown’s newspaper and token from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023) and Carrie Bradshaw’s bed and answerphone from the hit series Sex In The City. Stephen Lane, founder and chief executive of Propstore, expressed excitement about the upcoming auction, following a successful event in Los Angeles where Indiana Jones’ hat fetched a record-breaking £481,000.

The live auction is scheduled to begin at Bafta 195 Piccadilly in London on November 14 and 15, with online sessions on November 16 and 17. Film enthusiasts and collectors are gearing up for the event, eager to bid on these iconic cinematic memorabilia pieces.
