Man spends £100 in McDonald’s to see how much Monopoly prizes he can win

A man decided to test his luck and spent £100 at McDonald’s to see how much he could win in the Monopoly promotion. Josh Ryan, 25, accompanied by his girlfriend Megan McLoughlin, 23, splurged £100 at the fast-food chain to uncover the prizes they could potentially win. The annual McDonald’s Monopoly event is eagerly anticipated by enthusiasts, offering a range of rewards from free treats to cash prizes, including a massive £100,000 jackpot.

After their initial £100 investment in McDonald’s purchases, the couple eagerly opened each item to reveal their fate. Despite accidentally spending £6 on a Big Mac, not eligible for the Monopoly scheme, their excitement grew as they assembled stickers towards completing the yellow property set, which could secure them an electric vehicle, dream holiday, or the grand £100,000 prize. Although the couple only had one yellow property left after their first £50 order, their hopes of winning a TV were dashed when all they received was a Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

Undeterred, Josh also tried his luck with the Double Peel for an extra opportunity to win prizes but was unsuccessful. The couple delved into their second £50 spend, and their enthusiasm peaked when they discovered wins like £5 off a personalised phone case from their first peel. Further wins included a 15% discount code for McDonald’s orders, a free McDonald’s Coca-Cola or Milkshake, and the most significant win of £75 off a £750 TUI spend from the Double Peel.

Excited by being just a few properties away from major rewards, Josh exclaimed about needing one more blue, red, and orange sticker and one more green in a follow-up video. McDonald’s shared an update on their Monopoly Prizes, revealing over 25.3 million prizes distributed since the game began, with two £100,000 cash prizes claimed. If their video receives 100,000 likes, Josh and Megan promised to purchase more items for another thrilling session.
