Coleen Rooney reportedly ‘signs up for I’m a Celebrity’

Coleen Rooney, the wife of former Manchester United and England footballer Wayne Rooney, has reportedly signed up to appear on the next series of ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity’. The 38-year-old has been thrust into the limelight recently due to her high-profile legal battle, dubbed Wagatha Christie, with Rebekah Vardy, another footballer’s wife.

According to The Sun, Coleen Rooney is set to fly to Australia next month to take part in the popular reality show hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. An ITV spokesperson commented that any speculation about the show’s lineup is currently just conjecture. This news comes in the wake of Vardy being ordered to pay Rooney an additional £100,000 following her legal defeat in 2022.

Rooney had accused Vardy of leaking personal information to the press on social media, a controversy that resurfaced this week, marking five years since the infamous incident. Vardy was initially required to cover 90% of Rooney’s legal fees, with an initial payment of £800,000. However, a senior costs judge has now ruled that Vardy must pay an extra £100,000 to Rooney within 21 days.

Reports suggest that ITV producers are hoping Rooney will open up about her feud with Vardy, as well as provide insights into her life with Wayne and their four children. The couple previously released a documentary series titled ‘Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story’ on Disney+ last year. Vardy herself appeared on ‘I’m a Celebrity’ in 2017 but was the third contestant to be voted off.

Representatives for Coleen Rooney have been contacted for a response to these reports. Stay tuned for further updates and exclusive insights into this developing story.
