Liam Gallagher Reacts Strongly to Saturday Night Live Parody
Rock legend Liam Gallagher has responded in a brutal manner to a recent parody of his band Oasis on Saturday Night Live. The widely popular US variety show featured a skit that poked fun at Gallagher and his brother Noel, just ahead of their highly anticipated reunion tour next year.
Viewers in the UK were quick to express their disapproval of the parody, especially criticising the inaccurate imitation of the Mancunian brothers’ accents. In response to a fan who tagged him in a clip of the sketch on Twitter, Gallagher questioned the comedic quality of the parody, asking, “Are they meant to be comedians?”
The skit on SNL saw Sarah Sherman portraying Liam and James Austin Johnson playing Noel. Following the episode, social media was flooded with criticisms of the sketch, with many viewers finding it cringe-worthy and poorly executed.
One viewer on Twitter commented, “Bloody hell… I don’t mind a bit of SNL but this #Oasis sketch was just AGONY to watch.” Another user wrote, “SNL have done an Oasis bit and it’s just as cringe as you imagine.”
Gallagher, known for his outspoken nature, faced backlash last month for his singing during a performance at Wembley Stadium. Responding to criticism of his vocals, he lashed out at detractors on Twitter, declaring, “To all those S***C***S who were crying about my ANGELIC TONES last night you ain’t real fans your just IMPOSTERS.”
Despite the recent controversies, Oasis is gearing up for an extensive tour across the UK and Europe in 2025, with further shows planned globally. Fans are eagerly awaiting the iconic band’s return to the stage.
