A woman and child are currently in critical condition in hospital after a horrific school bus crash that also left four other children injured. The incident occurred early in the morning and involved a double-decker school bus and a silver Vauxhall Astra on the B3296, Meaver Road in Mullion, Cornwall. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene to provide assistance.
The woman, in her 30s, and the young child suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision, while the other four children sustained minor injuries and received medical attention. Authorities reported that the emergency services were alerted to the crash at approximately 8.40am on Monday. Both occupants of the Vauxhall, the woman, and the child, are reported to have sustained severe injuries.
Devon Live mentioned that the next of kin of the victims have been informed, and the police are closely coordinating with the school to ensure proper support is provided to the children who were on the bus during the accident. The Coastguard was also involved in the emergency response, with one of the injured individuals being airlifted to the hospital for treatment in an air ambulance. Additional casualties were transported to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
