Father and Step Mother Due to Appear at Old Bailey in Sara Sharif Murder Trial

The trial over the death of 10-year-old Sara Sharif is set to continue until December 13th. Three members of the same family, Sara’s father Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool, and uncle Faisal Malik, are accused of killing her. Sara’s body was discovered at her home in Woking, Surrey, last August. The defendants have pleaded not guilty to her murder and to causing or allowing the death of a child between December 16, 2022, and August 9, 2023.

Last week, a jury was selected with prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC scheduled to open the case on Monday at the Old Bailey. The trial before Mr. Justice Cavanagh is expected to run until December 13th. The tragic case has captured the nation’s attention as the details unfold in court.
