A murder investigation has been launched by the police following the disappearance of an eight-year-old boy in Ireland, who is sadly presumed dead. Kyran Durnin went missing over six weeks ago along with his mother, Dayla Durnin. The authorities have expressed serious concerns for Kyran’s safety, with Dayla failing to make contact with her family since their disappearance on August 28 from County Louth.
Despite extensive searches conducted by law enforcement, Kyran’s whereabouts remain unknown, leading investigating Gardai to believe he is missing presumed dead. An incident room has been set up at Drogheda Garda Station, and no arrests have been made yet in connection with the case. Tusla, Ireland’s Child and Family Agency, is collaborating closely with the police investigation.
Dayla’s mother, Rhonda Byrne Tyson, is currently looking after Dayla’s other two children, Laseigh, 7, and Isla, 3, at her residence in Drogheda. Urging her daughter to make contact, Rhonda revealed that Dayla left a note before disappearing, indicating she needed time away. Concerns arise as Dayla, who was diagnosed with type one diabetes last Christmas, has been away without sufficient medication.
The community has been called upon to assist in any way possible, with hopes of shedding light on Kyran and Dayla’s whereabouts. The investigation is ongoing, and Gardai are appealing for any information that could help bring closure to this distressing case.
