Groups in Cumbernauld encouraged to apply to Campsies Fund Programme

Groups in Cumbernauld are being urged to apply for the Campsies Fund Programme, which offers up to £10,000 in financial aid for projects that enhance the well-being and progress of communities in the Cumbernauld North, South, and East areas. This initiative aims to support local organisations and community groups in their endeavours to make a positive impact on the community. Councillor Geraldine Woods, the Convener of the Communities Committee, emphasised the significance of this funding opportunity, stating, “This is a fantastic chance for local groups to secure vital funding to bolster their projects.”

The Campsies Fund Programme for 2024 is now open for applications, with a deadline set for 5pm on Tuesday, 19th November 2024. Eligible groups can utilize the funding for various purposes such as employee expenses, accommodation, program costs, and even capital projects that can be completed within a year. The funding is intended to support activities that enhance community safety, well-being, and the overall aesthetics of the area. Interested parties can submit their applications by emailing NLCCampsiefunding@northlan.gov.uk.

The dissolution of Campsies Centre Cumbernauld Ltd (CCCL) in 2018 led to the transfer of assets to North Lanarkshire Council for projects within Cumbernauld in March 2021. The criteria for allocating Campsies funds was established by the Youth, Equalities, and Empowerment (YEE) Committee in 2019 to ensure that the funding benefits local projects in Cumbernauld.

This initiative presents a valuable opportunity for voluntary organisations and community groups in Cumbernauld to secure financial support for their initiatives. By applying to the Campsies Fund Programme, these groups can make a tangible difference in their communities and contribute to the overall well-being and development of the area.
