Police in Scotland have launched an investigation after a man was attacked and robbed in a street in Port Glasgow. The 56-year-old victim was targeted in Montgomerie Street, where the incident took place around 2pm on Saturday. He reported the attack to officers at 4.35pm and was subsequently taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment before being released.
Authorities are now calling on the public for any information that may help identify the perpetrators. The suspects are described as two white males aged between 20 and 30 years old. One of them was wearing grey clothing, while the other was dressed in black. Detective Constable Agnieszka Telford urged anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area on the day of the incident to come forward.
“We are continuing our investigation to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and trace the two men responsible,” said DC Telford. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the police at 101, quoting incident number 2473 of 23 November. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be provided to the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
