South Lanarkshire Council has given the green light to a new housing development in Lesmahagow, comprising 25 houses. The ambitious plans proposed by Alan Wilson of Modern Housing Limited will see the construction of the development on land located 85 metres south of Brocketsbrae Road. One of the key features of the houses will be large windows in every room to enhance the quality of living and reduce electricity usage by minimizing the need for artificial lighting. Additionally, each home will be equipped with air source heat pumps, boasting an impressive energy efficiency of around 400 percent to lower energy consumption for heating and hot water.
Moreover, solar panels will be installed on each house to help homeowners decrease their reliance on the national grid, while electric car charging points will be available in all dwellings.
