A loud explosion was heard in a street in a Scottish town as a car suddenly burst into flames. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was notified of the incident just before 6 pm on Cameron Drive in Auchinleck, Ayrshire, earlier today. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and fortunately, no injuries have been reported from the incident. Videos captured flames engulfing the front of the vehicle as residents were startled by the unexpected explosion.
A local resident described the unsettling experience, mentioning that it was the second vehicle fire in their street within a week. Recounting the event, the man shared, “We live in this street and the area is getting pretty shocking. This is the second time a vehicle has gone on fire within one week. My daughter noticed the flames, and I went outside to see what was happening and noticed the flames. As I was standing there, there was a loud explosion from within the car.”
A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident, stating that they received reports of the burning vehicle around 5:58 pm and dispatched two appliances. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 6:10 pm and successfully extinguished the blaze. At present, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
