A violent incident at a wedding reception in Perth resulted in a brawl and a woman being fined £450 at Perth Sheriff Court. Chelsea O’Rourke, 26, was found staggering outside the venue by police after assaulting Emma Quinn over accusations of stolen money during the event. The altercation involved O’Rourke pulling Quinn’s hair while intoxicated and in charge of two children aged eight and three, whom she had left unattended inside the venue.
According to the Fiscal depute Stephanie Paterson, the accused became drunk and engaged in a heated argument with Ms Quinn at the Civil Service Club in Perth. The situation escalated into a physical altercation, requiring intervention from other guests to separate the two women. O’Rourke was traced outside the venue by the police, where she was identified as the person responsible for the assault. Despite a minor cut on Quinn’s head, she declined medical attention, and the children were eventually looked after by another guest for the night.
After spending the night in custody, O’Rourke was released the next morning. During her court appearance, her solicitor Alan Davie mentioned that the incident occurred during a family wedding, where O’Rourke had consumed alcohol excessively and regretted her actions.
