An Uddingston mum has shown tremendous support for a hospital with a heartwarming Christmas collection. Nicole Stirrat, a mother retraining as a midwife, embarked on a festive fundraising campaign to spread joy at the Glasgow hospital where her son Alex received life-changing treatment. Young Alex has been under the care of the cleft palate clinic at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, where he underwent multiple surgeries for his condition of Pierre Robin syndrome. Nicole, along with her son and midwifery lecturer Sheona Brown, presented a collection of donations and gifts at the hospital as part of her annual charity initiative at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), where she is a student.
Nicole shared that the medical care and emotional support provided by the cleft team at the hospital were invaluable to her family during Alex’s surgeries and treatments.
