The annual Fry Awards have recently revealed the top fish and chip takeaways and restaurants in Scotland for 2025. Scotland’s love for a classic fish supper continues to be celebrated as the winners were announced by FRY Magazine, honouring the best chippies across the UK.

In Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, The Garioch Fish Bar proudly stands as the town’s finest fish and chip shop, priding itself on sourcing local produce and serving freshly prepared meals. Moore’s Fish & Chips in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, a family-run business since 1977, offers an extensive menu of traditional classics alongside their signature fish and chips.

Further afield, Quintiliani’s Fast Food in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, is a historic family-run chippy serving up a variety of dishes, including fish suppers, pizzas, kebabs, and more. Redcloak Fish Bar in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, located by the sea, utilises local and high-quality sustainable ingredients to deliver award-winning fish and chips daily.

In Aberdeen, Sea Salt + Sole is renowned for sourcing their haddock sustainably and offering specialties such as langoustines, scampi, and rock turbot from local fishermen. The Cafe Royal in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, expressed gratitude to their customers and team for the esteemed recognition.

Catch in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire, was the only Scottish eatery to secure a spot among FRY Magazine’s top 10 fish and chip restaurants. Describing itself as a “posh modern day neighbourhood fish and chip shop and restaurant”, Catch serves up a diverse menu including haddock and chips, lobster, halibut, and more.
