Dr Wayne Davis, a doctor who abused patients for years, has been sentenced to jail after a series of trials uncovered his despicable actions. The case against Dr Davis, who worked as a GP in Salford, could not be fully reported due to legal restrictions until he was convicted. He has been handed an eight-year prison term for his crimes.
One of the victims, a woman from the Chassidic orthodox Jewish community, sought Dr Davis’ help before her marriage. Despite feeling pain and discomfort following his treatment, she felt compelled to trust him due to cultural and religious norms. Another victim, who got married in the 1990s, was also subjected to unnecessary and invasive examinations by Dr Davis, further highlighting his pattern of abuse.
