The incident, which occurred on July 12th last year, took place in Heston Avenue, Dumfries, when customer Jason Goldie, 50, confronted the delivery driver, Sadiq Yildirim, 57, about the temperature of his kebab. In response, Yildirim grabbed a metal bar from his car and struck Mr. Goldie with it.
Following this altercation, Yildirim’s sons, Cerkez, 26, and Erkan, 31, also arrived at the scene and the situation escalated further. The entire incident was captured on video by shocked neighbours and later circulated on social media, showing Yildirim brandishing the metal bar, banging on windows, and engaging in verbal abuse. The police were eventually called by Mr. Goldie’s wife, leading to the arrests of the Yildirim family members.
During the court appearance this week, Erkan Yildirim pleaded guilty to various charges including damaging property, making threats, and resisting arrest. Cerkez Yildirim also pleaded guilty to behaving aggressively with a weapon in public. Sadiq Yildirim admitted to the assault with the metal bar and engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour.
